AI is transforming society, software, data, connectivity, cities, retail, security and even our health. According to Forbes, the market value of AI in the healthcare industry is predicted to reach 6.6 billion USD by 2021.
AI has a myriad of applications in the healthcare industry. Whether it’s being used to discover links between genetic codes, to power surgical robots or to maximize hospital efficiency, AI has played a crucial part in reinventing and reinvigorating the modern healthcare industry through software that can predict, comprehend, learn and act.
AI in healthcare is both an ethical and efficiency challenge. After all, AI has no bedside manner (yet) but can be amazing at handling large amounts of data to help connect the dots; to predict the spread of a disease, develop and recommend therapies and optimize the delivery of care.
From the Alexa skill Dr AI and other automated self-diagnosis tools and apps, to big data pattern detection and algorithms that aim to prolong human lifespan and curing infection and disease, today the topic is more important than ever. AI has been used in the healthcare industry for decades – for statistical modelling & simulation, prediction, analysis and reporting – in laboratories, clinical and medical settings.
In this webinar we will be looking at inspiring examples of AI in healthcare during these increasingly uncertain times. We will discuss machine learning, natural language processing, rules-based expert systems and digital assistants, and robotics in care and operations.
We live in uncertain times, with the Coronavirus situation evolving daily. But we aren’t helpless in this fight. We may not be certain about what the future holds, but we can be certain that Artificial Intelligence has a role to play in it – especially within healthcare.
We will be providing some insights into how AI can help fight against virus threats like Covid-19, looking at topics such as early detection, prediction of spread, planning optimization of healthcare resources; and how to use AI to find a cure and help save lives.
*As the situation changes, we will be monitoring the impact of the coronavirus and update this section accordingly in the build-up to the webinar event date.

Date: Thursday 23rd April
Time: 17:00 – 18:00 UK time
Software: GoToWebinar
The webinar will run for 1 hour on the 23rd April at 5pm GMT / 9am PST.
Our guest speakers will also be presenting good, bad and ugly examples of AI, and asking for your vote to rank them as such. We’ll explore the ways artificial intelligence is impacting healthcare, and providing insights on whether the AI technology is having a positive or negative affect on the healthcare industry as a whole. Below are how we define the good, the bad and the ugly.
