AI WEBINAR SERIES:
THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY

VOLUME II: UNPACKING THE AI SUITCASE

Wednesday 16th October at 14:00 BST
Chair: David Skerrett
Guest Speaker: Mark Brill

In this curated content series we take a look at the weird and wonderful world of AI, and we unpack the suitcase of AI and talk about the emerging and mature use cases around the world for AI.

 UNPACKING THE AI SUITCASE

AI is not a single technology. Marvin Minsky, a pioneer in this field, describes AI as a “suitcase term.” It’s a concept that appears simple enough but is actually endlessly complex and packed with lots of other ideas, concepts, processes and problems.

AI is a branch of computer science and is defined as a system that makes autonomous decisions. As AI moves from Sci-Fi to everyday reality we will look at the terms and evolution involved in AI, and also discuss the moral and ethical concerns within this field.

 GOOD, BAD OR UGLY?

Our guest speakers will also be presenting good, bad and ugly examples of AI, and asking for your vote to rank them as such. We’ll explore ways AI is helping to save the world through  medical breakthroughs, to how it is used in warfare, and all the way to seeing how it can be programmed to find Waldo.

We’ll let you decide how good, bad or ugly AI can be and provide you with a devil’s advocate viewpoint.
